Having cast his ballot in Sofia, Progressive Bulgaria leader Rumen Radev said: "Today Bulgaria has a historic chance to break once and for all with the Peevski-Borissov oligarchic model, and this is an opportunity we must not miss."

He was referring to Movement for Rights and Freedoms leader Delyan Peevski and GERB leader Boyko Borissov.

Radev said voting was the only way to "drown vote-buying in a sea of free votes".

He said the first step after the elections should be the election of a new Supreme Judicial Council and its Inspectorate, which would then select a new Prosecutor General. He stressed that the top priority after election day was forming a stable government capable of addressing citizens' problems.

Asked about potential coalitions, Radev said his party was open to cooperation with any formation that genuinely shares its programme.

Asked if Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria is a possible coalition partner, he said a key task would be removing the oligarchic model from political power, cutting off its access to resources, and reforming the justice system. The next step would be to shed light on the political figures who assign tasks to vote brokers.

"We will do everything possible to form a government," Radev said. Asked if any of the caretaker ministers would keep their posts, he said it would be appropriate for all ministers to resign in the event of a change in political power.
