Caretaker Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky and Japan’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Chikahisa Sumi praised the active bilateral dialogue and cooperation during a meeting on the occasion of the Japanese diplomat’s assumption of office, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The sides in the talks praised the active bilateral dialogue and cooperation, elevated to the level of a “strategic partnership” in 2025. A shared ambition was underlined to further develop interaction in specific areas of interest, with a focus on future technologies, artificial intelligence, connectivity and green energy.
Neynsky referred to the traditional closeness and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries as a prerequisite for further utilising and building upon the bilateral dialogue.
Shared concern was expressed over the ongoing war in Ukraine and new flashpoints of escalation, with the interlocutors uniting around messages to strengthen their fruitful bilateral and multilateral cooperation in a spirit of mutual understanding and in support of peace and security.
