Political Formations Spend Some EUR 600,000 During First 20 Days of Election Campaign

The Central Election Commission (CEC) registered 24 political formations and one initiative committee for the April 19 early parliamentary elections. The Institute for Public Environment Development published on Wednesday a monitoring report on media advertising during the first 20 days of the election campaign.

It includes the official pages of 38 national and regional media outlets – eight television channels, three radio stations, 11 newspapers and 16 news websites and agencies. Participants have spent a total of EUR 583,890 excluding VAT. TV Eurocom received the largest amount (EUR 145,509), followed by the Bulgarian National Television (EUR 123,357) and 24 Chasa (EUR 62,267). The Bulgarian National Radio received EUR 23,705 and the Bulgarian News Agency – EUR 790.

The Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria coalition ranked first in terms of expenditure, with EUR 111,006. It was followed by Progressive Bulgaria with EUR 82,305, while Vazrazhdane ranked third with EUR 61,437. GERB-UDF spent EUR 58,072, BSP - United Left EUR 46,483, Velichie EUR 28,830, Siyanie [Radiance] EUR 23,735, and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms – EUR 23,029.
