Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov and Greek Ambassador to Bulgaria Alexios Marios Liberopoulos discussed the rise in Greek investment in Bulgaria and in trade turnover between the two countries in 2025, the Cabinet press service said here Wednesday.
During the talks, Gurov noted the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries. As an example of the good cooperation, he pointed to Greece's readiness to support Bulgaria's air defence in view of the worsening situation in Iran. "The regional factor is important, our countries need to remain close and work actively together, especially in the difficult times we are going through," Gurov said.
Against that backdrop, Gurov and Liberopoulos also discussed gas supply diversification, supply security and migration. The Cabinet press service added that no increase had so far been observed in attempted illegal border crossings.
Bulgaria and Greece remained on heightened alert to respond to any possible increase in migration pressure, the Cabinet press service said.
