Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky held a working meeting with the ambassadors of Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden to discuss priority items on the international agenda, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of ongoing Russian aggression topped the agenda. The minister and the ambassadors reaffirmed their countries' commitment to continue providing comprehensive assistance - political, military and humanitarian. There was a consensus that Ukraine's stability is directly linked to the long-term security architecture of Europe and the protection of democratic values on the continent.

The rapidly changing situation in the Middle East and the importance of international coordination to maintain regional stability were high on the agenda.

The discussion concluded with an emphasis on strengthening security along NATO's eastern flank, highlighting the key role of the Black Sea region in overall European stability. The sides concurred that an enhanced Allied presence and close cooperation within the Alliance are crucial for deterring both hybrid and conventional threats. The meeting ended with a reaffirmation of the shared determination to upgrade defence capabilities and ensure peace and security in Europe through solidarity and shared responsibility.
