“I congratulate all Bulgarian citizens on the National Day, March 3. Be proud, confident and free citizens in a secure and peaceful Bulgaria," said Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Delyan Peevski on the occasion of Bulgaria's National Day, as quoted by his party's press centre here on Tuesday.

"Today, as we mark 148 years since the Liberation of Bulgaria, we bow our heads in memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the highest value of any nation - freedom," Peevski said.

"We must remember that we are a people who, even in the darkest and most turbulent times, have had the strength and energy to defend their ideal - a free, peaceful and independent Bulgaria," he said.

"This is the Bulgaria that the Movement for Rights and Freedoms has consistently fought for, and we will continue to serve the people and defend their security and freedom."
