site.btaMunicipalities Association Board Confirms Silvia Georgieva for Third Term as Executive Director

The Management Board of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) confirmed Silvia Georgieva for a third term as the Association’s Executive Director, the NAMRB said in a press release on Wednesday. The decision was taken following the presentation of a report on the Executive Director’s work during the 2022–2025 term and the new Programme for the period 2026–2029. 

In her report, Georgieva highlighted the Association’s key achievements over the past four years, including increased financial resources for municipal budgets, participation in the national legislative process, the expansion of NAMRB’s institutional influence, and the provision of substantial expert support to local authorities during crises, reforms and investment programmes.

The new Programme for the 2026–2029 term outlines Association’s strategic priorities for the coming years. These include alignment with European policies and the new 2028–2034 programming period, accelerating the green and digital transformation of municipalities, ensuring financial sustainability, strengthening administrative capacity and expanding international cooperation.
