site.btaBulgaria Records EU's Lowest Share of Online Purchases of Event Tickets in 2025

In 2025, 26.8% of people in the EU had purchased tickets online for events in the previous 3 months, up 3.8 percentage points (pp) compared with 2024, according to Eurostat data released on Tuesday.

Online ticket purchases were least popular among people in Bulgaria (11.4%), Romania (12.6%), and Italy (14.2%).

In Bulgaria, the share of people who purchased event tickets online during the past three months increased by 1.58 percentage points compared with 2024.

The largest increase in the EU over the past year was recorded in Greece, where the share rose by 15.6 percentage points to 38.86%.

Among the EU Member States, Ireland had the highest share, with more than half of individuals having bought tickets online for events in the past three months (51.5%), ahead of the Netherlands (48.1%) and Denmark (47.9%).

An increase in the share of people using the internet to buy event tickets was recorded in every EU Member State except Hungary and Slovenia, where the share declined.
