There is no better testament to the work of the Interior Ministry, said Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev in a Facebook post, referring to a complaint filed by Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Delyan Peevski against him.

Earlier in the day, the MRF announced that a lawyer for leader Delyan Peevski had submitted a complaint to the prosecution service requesting an investigation into statements and actions by the Interior Minister.

According to him, the allegations of coercing witnesses and fabricating reports are not merely the height of political hypocrisy but a pure form of psychological parody.

"Mr Peevski is obviously attributing to the current leadership of the Ministry of Interior his own trademark approach, which for years was the standard method of governance in this country. It is cynical for the very architect of the system of dependencies and influence to speak about fabricated or coached witnesses at a time when people are simply beginning to lose their fear and tell the truth. The Ministry of Interior does not fabricate evidence, it has simply stopped hiding it. I am a lawyer, and the last thing I would do is use Peevski's methods!" the minister said.
