Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova held Monday a phone conversation with her counterpart from North Macedonia Timco Mucunski, as reported on her official X profile. The two discussed the arson attack on diplomatic vehicles belonging to the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, which took place earlier in the day.
"Bulgaria strongly condemns this unacceptable act. We expect a prompt and thorough investigation, the identification of those responsible, and swift justice. Bulgaria will continue to use every available mechanism to counter any attempt to spread fear among Bulgarians in North Macedonia," Petrova wrote on X.

Earlier in the day, the act was condemned in an officials statements by the Foreign Ministry and by President Iliana Iotova, as well as by North Macedonia's Cabinet.
