site.btaStartups, Deep Tech and Healthcare Innovation among Highlights of Final Day of Green Transition Forum 6.0

Startups, deep technologies and science, healthcare innovation, the future of education, digitalization, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence are among the key topics on the agenda for the fifth and final day of Green Transition Forum 6.0, which begins at 9 am at the Sofia Event Center, according to the programme of the event.

The forum is organized by Dir.bg in cooperation with the Bulgarian-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry. BTA is among the media partners.

Corinne Trang, author and global business development adviser at NETZRO.us, is scheduled to speak on how ecosystems shape entrepreneurial behaviour.

A discussion titled "Financing the Future: How Central and Eastern Europe Can Benefit from EU Innovation Programmes" will feature European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva. Innovation and Digital Transformation Minister Ivan Vasilev and European Investment Fund Chief Executive Officer Marjut Falkstedt are also expected to participate.

According to the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, Zaharieva will also hold a Youth Policy Dialogue, the outcomes of which will contribute to the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy aimed at making Europe the best place to launch and grow innovative businesses.

Tourism, connectivity and regional growth will be discussed by European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas, Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov, and Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni.

A panel on the future of education will bring together European Parliament Vice-President Victor Negrescu, Deputy Education and Science Minister Tanya Pancheva, Polish Education Minister Barbara Nowacka, European Commission Director for Innovation, Digital Education and International Cooperation Antoaneta Angelova-Krasteva, OECD Director for Education and Skills and PISA founder Andreas Schleicher, American College of Sofia President Emily Sargent Beasley, Council of Rectors Chair Miglena Temelkova, International Hellenic University Rector Stamatis Aggelopoulos, and Trakia University Board member Kostadin Kostadinov.

A discussion on healthcare innovation will feature Member of the European Parliament Kristian Vigenin, Bayer Senior Vice-President and Chief Health Equity Officer Dr Claus Runge, and Mila Filipova, Product Manager at Information Services.

Digital sovereignty will be the focus of a separate panel with MEP Brando Benifei, a member of the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade (INTA), Sirma Group Holding CEO Tsvetan Alexiev, and Desislava Wallner, Head of IoT Connectivity at A1 Digital Austria.

Participants will also examine issues related to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Building a connected ecosystem of technology companies and startups in Southeast Europe will be the subject of an interactive discussion, while another session will explore whether Europe can innovate and develop quickly enough to remain globally competitive.
