Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova spoke by phone Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar,  the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. Saar congratulated Velislava Petrova on taking over as  Foreign Minister of Bulgaria and wished her success in this highly responsible mission.

During the conversation, which took place at the initiative of the Israeli side, the two highlighted the strategic nature of the relations between Bulgaria and Israel and outlined specific areas of mutual interest for advancing dialogue. The current situation and developments in the Middle East were also at issue, with Minister Petrova underscoring Bulgaria’s commitment to all international initiatives aimed at resolving the situation in the region through diplomacy and constructive dialogue.
