Katya Ivkova has been proposed as Minister of Health in the draft Cabinet of Rumen Radev.
Katya Ivkova holds a Master's degree in Public Health and Health Management from the Medical University of Sofia, graduated with full honours, and in International Relations from the University of National and World Economy. She has specialized in health diplomacy, strategic planning and e-governance in prestigious international forums in Austria, Greece and Bulgaria.
She currently holds the position of Director of the Directorate "European Coordination and International Cooperation" at the Ministry of Health, coordinates Bulgaria’s commitments to the European Union and key international organizations such as the UN, WHO, UNICEF, NATO and OECD. From 2024, she has been the Deputy Representative of Bulgaria to the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the term 2024–2027.
In 2023, Ivkova took up the position of Deputy Minister of Health, responsible for key areas such as international cooperation, European projects, e-health, and patient rights.
