Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported strong interest from visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia.

He added that while the hotel’s main clientele remains Bulgarian, there is also demand from abroad. “We are seeing considerable interest from markets such as Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia,” Zahov said, adding that this reflects both sustained regional demand and solid brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.

Zahov noted that Katarino SPA Hotel has been ranked first in the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025 for the second year in a row. The ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which evaluates guest reviews and ratings from more than 1,200 hotels across the country.

He added that the hotel has received multiple accolades in recent years, including for best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2023, best four-star spa hotel offering home-grown food in 2022, most eco-friendly destination in 2021, and best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020.

The spa centre offers a wide range of thermal and relaxation facilities, all with complimentary access for guests, Zahov said. These include indoor and outdoor pools heated to around 34C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and several types of saunas - Finnish, Kiva, and infrared. The spa also features an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, adventure showers, a tepidarium, an ice fountain, and a panoramic relaxation area with an open fireplace. Massages, spa rituals, hydrotherapy treatments, and specialized therapies are also available, with a focus on complete relaxation, recovery, and preventive care.

The hotel offers programmes for different types of guests, including hydrotherapy options such as flotation and Cleopatra baths, as well as classic, deep-tissue, and hot stone massages. Eastern therapies are also available, with programmes designed for people experiencing stress, guests seeking recovery, families, and visitors in need of preventive care.

A new outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi was built in 2023, Zahov said, noting that the spa area continues to evolve with a focus on delivering a complete wellness experience rather than a standard spa centre.
