A European group for territorial cooperation will be established here on Thursday between Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and the Republic of Moldova, the organizers told BTA. The event will be hosted by the Romanian Parliament building.

The organizers reported: "This is the first such group to bring together local and regional authorities from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. The founding event brings together over 150 representatives of local authorities from the four countries in Bucharest, marking an important milestone for cross-border cooperation on the eastern border of the European Union."

Sergiu Suharenco who heads the initiative committee will open the event. Opening remarks will be delivered by Sorin Grindeanu, President of the Chamber of Deputies in the Romanian Parliament; Andreea-Mihaela Miu, Presidential Adviser within the Presidential Administration of Romania; Adrian Solomon, Chair of the parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Protection; and Maricel Popa, deputy of the Social Democratic Party.

Special guests include the ambassadors of Bulgaria, Moldova, and Ukraine to Romania - Radko Vlaykov, Mihai Mitu, and Ihor Prokopchuk.
