The Ministry of Justice will hold an expert discussion on Thursday to develop transparent criteria for nominating candidates for key positions in the judiciary, the Ministry's press service reported. Developing a standard in the justice sector is among the priorities of the current caretaker government.
The rules will be passed on to a regular cabinet. The goal is for them to contribute to increasing the transparency and public nature of the nomination process, to strengthening trust in the judiciary, and to upholding the principles of the rule of law.
Representatives of professional and non-governmental organizations involved in the organization and structure of the judiciary are invited to participate in the discussion.
