The adoption of the lobbying activities bill is crucial for receiving EUR 437 million under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which will go toward hospitals, kindergartens, schools, emergency helicopters, support for people with disabilities, construction of homes for the elderly, and medical assistance in remote settlements, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov wrote on Facebook in connection with a failed meeting of the parliamentary legal committee meeting due to a lack of quorum, where the bill was supposed to be considered at second reading.
Yankulov thanked the MPs who were present and made an appeal to all deputies to attend tomorrow’s meeting and the plenary session so that the bill can be voted through.
National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan, who was supposed to attend the legal committee meeting, afterwards made a comment to the media: "We waited quite a long time, called all committee members, but they refused to attend, so that the lobbying activities bill could be considered [on second reading] and included in tomorrow's agenda. There is also a consolidated report on bills related to the Criminal Code, but the committee cannot meet and surely there will be another attempt tomorrow."
