site.btaParliament Chair Says Budget Extension Bill, Recovery Plan Laws Top Agenda until Last Session
"The priorities that remain are the second reading of the budget extension bill, as well as laws on which the fourth and fifth payments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan depend," National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan told journalists here on Tuesday.
She said that the legislature will last meet for a plenary sitting on Thursday before recessing for the April 19 early parliamentary election campaign, but it may be reconvened while in recess in case of emergency or on a motion signed by at least one-fifth of all MPs.
Nazaryan was to attend a meeting of the parliamentary Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, which did not take place for lack of quorum. "We waited quite a long time, called all committee members, but they refused to attend, so that the lobbying activities bill could be considered [on second reading] and included in tomorrow's agenda. There is also a consolidated report on bills related to the Criminal Code, but the committee cannot meet and surely there will be another attempt tomorrow," said Nazaryan.
She added that the Budget and Finance Committee is currently debating the budget extension bill, as well as the Transport and Communications Committee, and the Labour and Social Policy Committee will also meet. "So we expect reports from them as well, so we can include and review them at second reading, including the Public Transport Bill, which is also a requirement under the Recovery and Resilience Plan."
