A delegation from Bulgaria’s Finance Ministry and Financial Supervision Commission took part in the second Financial Markets Week organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris from March 2 to 6, the Finance Ministry said on its website.

The delegation, led by Deputy Finance Minister Metodi Metodiev, also included Financial Supervision Commission Chair Vasil Golemanski, as well as representatives of the Finance Ministry and the FSC. The statement said that “active participation at a high level is of great importance in view of Bulgaria’s candidacy for membership in the OECD”.

The main event of the forum was the meeting of the OECD Committee on Financial Markets, alongside which the regular meetings of the committee’s working groups were also held.

Participants discussed a range of issues, including the outlook and challenges for global financial markets, the relationship between artificial intelligence and open finance, opportunities for institutional investors and households to participate in capital markets, developments in corporate debt markets, and ways to address cyber risks in the financial sector.

According to the statement, these topics are of key importance both for the development and resilience of global financial markets and for Bulgaria’s integration into them.
