Council of Ministers decisions Bulgarian Posts to Provide Universal Postal Service for Five More Years

The period for which Bulgarian Posts is entrusted to provide universal postal service is extended by 5 years, according to draft amendments to the Postal Services Act. The bill is in implementation with the restructuring plan of Bulgarian Posts. The universal postal service was entrusted to Bulgarian Posts in 2010 for a period of 15 years. The envisaged changes fulfil the European Commission's requirement that the State has to ensure that Bulgarian Posts will provide the service of general economic interest for the entire duration of the restructuring plan.

Parliament Amends Agricultural Producers Support Act on First Reading

The National Assembly adopted on first reading amendments to the Agricultural Producers Support Act here on Thursday. The bill sponsor, Desislava Taneva of GERB-UDF, said that this bill is necessary in order to proceed with the very late campaign for the submission of applications for direct payments.
