Concession for Plovdiv Airport to Be Announced by the End of the Year: Tourism Minister
November 14 (BTA) - Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova
said Thursday in Plovdiv that a concession for Plovdiv Airport
will be announced by the end of the year. Angelkova is in town
for the opening of the 11th international meeting of tour
operators, which is being held at the St. Petersburg Park Hotel.
"For the first 9 months of the year, we have had about 7,800,000
tourists in the country, which is a very low decline compared
to the dramatic picture that many expected after the record
growth of last year," said Angelkova.
The meeting was attended by 76 tour operators from 14 countries,
as well as representatives of the media and municipalities, who
are there to share their ideas and new projects and present
innovative trends in the tourism sector.
The forum will continue until November 16, 2019 and focus on the
"Episcopal Basilica and Mosaic Heritage of Philippopolis" in
honor of their inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List of
Important Cultural and Natural Sites. RY/DT
