The sides also discussed the future of Europe and aspects of security, the reforms of asylum policy and migration control. Pschierer commended Bulgaria's efforts to guard the EU borders and expressed readiness to help in case of a spike in migration pressure.

Radev and Pschierer also confirmed the significance of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region for both countries, as it is an important factor in economic growth, cohesion and cultural exchange.
