IMRO Ready with New Draft Provisions Concerning Necessary Self-defence
Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (IMRO, part of the United Patriots coalition, itself a partner in the ruling majority) is ready with new draft provisions concerning necessary self-defence and will propose them to the other partners in the coalition, Iskren Vesselinov, Deputy Chairman of IMRO-Bulgarian National Movement and United Patriots Deputy Chairman said on Facebook.
Extending the scope of necessary self-defence has been a priority of IMRO for several years now, and also of the other two parties in the coalition.
The topic flared up after on March 2 a doctor from the southern city of Plovdiv shot dead an intruder in his home and was detained. The doctor's detention sparked large-scale protests in Plovdiv and other cities.
